We have our spring field trip tentatively scheduled for Thursday, April 28th. We will be going to The Explorium, which is the children’s museum in downtown Lexington. I will send home a permission form once I get everything squared away on my end. If you would like to come, please make sure you have completed a criminal record background check. Also, know that if you come you may be in charge of a group of 5 kids. We hope to have many of you come and join us for one of the last big events in kindergarten. Just a reminder that this trip will be around $10 a child. If you are able to give more to help, that would be greatly appreciated!

Please keep sending in homework on Wednesday’s. It makes it much easier for me to get everything done for it to go back home on Friday.

I would really like to have a few pictures of the kiddos during the music concert. If you have some that you could email me or give me a copy of I would really enjoy having them.

Wish List: With the end of the year getting near, I am beginning to run out of a few classroom supplies. Some things that we could use in the classroom are the following:
• Dry erase markers
• Markers
• Glue sticks
• Crayons
• Treasure box items

Starting next week I will no longer mark green on your child’s calendar if they had a good day. Just assume that no news is good news! However, I will mark their calendar if they pull a card.

I am currently trying to figure out our spring field trip. I think it will be sometime at the end of April. I just wanted to give you a heads up because it looks like this one may cost around $10 a child. Be thinking about volunteering to go with us. If you would like to go with us and have not filled out a background check, please go ahead and get that done so you will be able to come. Any questions about background checks can be directed to our Family Resource Center.

Thank you for those who turned in your homework on time this week. Please, do your best to turn it in on Wednesday, even if you are not finished so I have enough time to prepare homework for the next week. Also, I have just been informed that if you loose one of the take home books, it will cost $5 dollars to replace. Please, do your best to keep up with the books and if you loose it, please send in $5 to compensate for the loss.

Important Information

I have recently noticed that a lot of students are bringing in soda for their drink during meal times. We have a district policy that supports healthy drinks during meal times. Please, feel free to bring in fruit drinks, water and milk, but please stay away from bringing in soda. Thanks for your cooperation!

Snack- Please continue to bring in food items that we could use for snack for the weeks that we have extended days. Items that would work well would be pretzels, cheese crackers, fruit snacks, etc. Keep in mind that we have 24 kids.

I know with spring beginning to show up, so does a lot of extra after school activities. I understand that you are busy, but I encourage you to work with your child on their homework each week. The homework is repetitive, but this really helps the kids learn the foundation of reading. Starting next week I will give students stickers to put on their charts if they turn their homework in on time. If you ever have questions about the homework, please let me know and I would be more than happy to help!

Book orders just went home for the month of March. You can send your order in to me or submit it online. Remember you must pay in check, not cash. Deadline to turn in all book orders is Friday, March 25th.

The end of the nine weeks is Thursday, March 17th. Report cards will be coming home on Thursday, March 24th. Remember the report cards show end of the year expectations. It has been wonderful to see how far these kids have come!!
